where will I find gnome-ppp to install in ubuntu 710 Sudo apt-get install cannot find package to install

try pppconfig

You may need to enable the universe repositories to get
sudo apt-get install gnome-ppp

Go to the System, Administration, Software Sources and make sure universe checkbox is checked on the first tab.

Thank you for your quick response to my question the problem seems to compound itself in that the repositories that you suggest I can not access, as i need internet access to use them.
The computer that i need the to install the Gnome-ppp application on is unable to connect to the intenet. I had hopes of using that app to
help with internet access.

If you put your original 7.10 install CD in, then run synaptic, those packages should be also available to you.

I have just checked the CD and the relevant file is on it under

/ubuntu/pool/main/p/pppconfig

Also need "ppoeconf" if it is not already installed, I would say,
