NO SUPPORT FOR DDR2 IN UBUNTU Version 7
Does Ubuntu Version 7 Detect DDR2 Ram At 800MHz or not? If Yes How?
I have a 64 Bit pc running : AMD Athlon64X2- 4200+ cpu; Nvidia Ge-Force 6150 On Board Shared Graphics Card; Nvidia n-force networking controller; 2GB+2GB transcend DDR2-800Mhz ram; on a ASUS- M2NPV-VM motherboard. My monitor is Benq FP92W, a 19" Wide-Screen Monitor, having resolution 1440 X 900
I have 2 problems:
1. recently when i installed Ubuntu 64 Bit, Version 7; it didn't detected my Ram as DDR2 @800 MHz; rather as plain DDR@400MHz!!! While Windows XP detects it as DDR2@-800Mhz :-(.
2. My Ubuntu uses monitor resolution as low & not to it's full resolution as 1440 X 900. please tell me how to correct it...
Why is it so? Does Ubuntu Linux Lacks Support for DDR2-800 Ram or is there something else?
Also; there is no problem in the OS; it's running just plain & fine; but the only problem being that Ram is running at a speed of 400MHz only & Not it's Actual Speed of 800 MHz!
Is it a BUG, in Linux or just an unsupported functionality?
I came to know about this problem; when i ran the memory test and discovered to my surprise; the pc showing my RAM as being of DDR &at 400 MHz rather than that being DDR2 @800 MHz :-(
Please tell me how to resolve this problem
