UBUNTU 7.10 / Java
Hello
I've a question because I've problems to install Java.
I followed the steps described in the instructions of www.java.com (Linux (self-extracting file)). I guess the installation of Java worked and I assume that Java is ok,
The problem appeared in the Enable and Configure section. The first lines of these section are:
# Go to the plugins sub-directory under the Mozilla installation directory
cd <Mozilla installation directory>/plugins
# In the current directory, create a symbolic link to the JRE ns7/libjavaplug
ln -s <JRE installation directory>
First I changed to the plugins sub-directory /usr/lib/
Then I createtd the symbolic link to the JRE ns7/libjavaplug
And this is the problem: In Nautilus the type of this link is mentioned as a broken link! And I don't know why.
Do you have an idea? Thanks a lot.
Peter
