Partioning will not run on 8.04 Install

Asked by John P.

Running install from Live CD, everthing ok untill I get to the partioning section & nothing happens from there. Nothing appears in regards to disc drives or partions & I cannot progress with the installation any further.

I have run version 6.1... no problems in the past.

Can anybody help with this.

Thanks in advance...

You could use the "alternate CD" this is more reliable when it comes to installing Ubuntu.
Click the checkbox on this screen before downloading.

Well if you've downloaded and burned the "Alternate CD" from the Ubuntu link above then it's just a matter of booting from it to install.

Are you happy to wipe the existing data on the machine or are you trying to dual boot with another operating system e.g. Windows? If so, just follow the prompts as you boot from the CD, this is preferred.

If not, you could use the live CD and run an install just like a WIndows application and install within windows. (known as a wubi install)

Can you help with this problem?
