how can i play audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin in firefox using totem-xine?

Asked by Juan Pablo Salazar Bertín

I'm using Feisty beta.
totem-mozilla is installed.
When I try to play a realvideo embedded in a webpage in firefox, it says "additional plugins are required".
I'm able to play the streaming video in totem, but totem-mozilla doesn't enable firefox to play embedded realvideo.
I've tried googling and I found that libtotem-complex-plugin was the plugin needed to play embedded realvideo content using totem in Edgy, but I have not found a package with that file in Feisty.

Is it possible to play embedded realvideo in Fesity + firefox + totem-xine?

The best player for RealPlayer files is Realplayer.

You can get it at http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/pool/main/r/realplay/realplay_10.0.8-0ubuntu1_i386.deb

I know RealPlayer is the official client for Real Audio/Video, but i don't want to have one player for every format.
totem-xine is working fine playing Real Audio/Video, but my question is about totem embedded in a webpage in firefox.
I think it was working in Edgy, so, I ask again: Is it possible to play embedded realvideo in Fesity + firefox + totem-xine?

I never had much luck with totem + firefox so I now use mplayer and the mplayer mozila plugin. I have yet to find something that wont play.

I've tried mplayer before, and it is able to play embedded content in firefox, but my question is specific about totem-xine. (I won't ask for totem-gstreamer since gstreamer doesn't support rtsp yet). Thanks.

Ok, I found how to do it.
I had to install totem-xine and totem-mozilla from debian experimental and everything was atomagic ;)

Shortcuts to get the files:
http://packages.debian.org/experimental/gnome/totem-xine
http://packages.debian.org/experimental/web/totem-mozilla
