Cannot Allocate resource region 1 of device 0000:00:14.0

Asked by Da7sunz

I"m trying to set up 6.10 on a new Dell Optiplex 320 and the live cd will not load it keeps telling me it cannot locate Resource region 1 of device 0000:00:14.0.
Anybody have a clue what this means , this is my second setup of Ubuntu and I have never seen this error.

Is the error due to the first PCI slot being PCI express or does that not really matter at this point? The text says it is coming from the PCI:

Hello !

There are sometimes hardware issues with 6.10 on laptops (due to kernel version, I think) ... Did you try to use Feisty (7.04) instead ?

Regards,
Benoît

Hello !

In fact I had some problems coming from SATA discs and I know it was fixed with kernel 2.6.18 ...

Sorry for confusing your desktop with a laptop :p ...

Let us know if Feisty solves the problem !

Regards,
Benoît

I just loaded the 7.04 and the Install goes Well with no issues until it ask to restart and when it loads the grub comes up the it goes to a blank screen with a blinking cursor_ and never loads. Do I need to edit the boot process so it loads root to (hd0,0) and not (hd0,5) from Grub?
