How do I insert enye character.

Asked by Nick Bikkal

In the character map I use in Ubuntu I find Ñ but I don't find the small equivalent as used in Spanish. I have found ńňʼn but not the one I'm looking for.

Thank you for your help.

Nick

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. If this is what you are looking for - ñ - then proceed this way:

Go to System, Preferences, Keyboard (not Keyboard Shortcuts), open the Layouts tab and then Layout Options.
Find "Compose key position" and select a key. Close the displays.

To create the ñ character, press

1. the control key
2. ~ (shift+~)
3. n

Similarly you can create ä, ö, ü, ë, á, à, ô, etcetera.

Can you help with this problem?
