Blue instead of orange

Asked by peter

Hello

I've a question and I would be glad if you can help. Thanks a lot.

I don't know what I did. Suddenly diffrent icons in the taskbar changed the color to blue and also the margin of the windows is blue.

Changed icons in the task bar are: Log off, Trash, Home Folder and Search for files. On the desktop the icon of "gnome" changed. The Log-off changed also its form. Now it's a green running mate and not more a red circle with a vertical line.

If you click the right mouse button in the task bar, you'll get an entry called "Add to panel". Also in this function changed the color of Trash and Quit.

I prefer to get back the orange color and the original icons. Do you have an idea what I can do? Thanks a lot.
Peter

Sounds to me like a graphical glitch. If you're sure that you didn't change any theme properties, it's probably caused by a bug. To confirm this, try restarting the session, either by logging out and logging back in, or restarting the computer. After logging in again, if the icons are still blue, and the margin of window as well, it might be a bug.

Lol, you might have changed the themes by mistake while playing around. It's quite normal, i used to do it a lot. New OS = time to explore and have fun :) (right?)

Go up to the top taskbar and click the
System menu - Preferences - Appearance

In the pop-up box click the Themes tab and roll down to my favourite them "Human Clearlooks" - there i bet that looks really nice now :)

I was going to try to amaze you by casually mentioning which theme you had changed to but the green running man is on a lot of the blue ones.

Just for fun try the last tab and switch all the effects on (if you can), now wobble some windows around and try dragging one off the screen to the left (or right). Sadly this kind of thing often gets in the way of serious gaming and movie watching so sometimes i have to switch it off :(

Oh and that option "Add to panel" is great fun too. I ended up with lots of eyes watching my mouse all round the edge of the screen, a news-ticker-tape-roll, a map of the world and allsorts. I've calmed it all down a lot now but ti was definitely fun and interesting. I kept the buttons to hide my bottom taskbar but the top ones kept confusing me.

Welcome to linux
Keep exploring and having fun :)
Regards from
Tom
