how to update/participate on updating package

Asked by pe3k

There is a new stable version of kvpnc on its homepage, but the current version of kvpnc for Jaunty (in launchpad) is older. I'd like to know whom should I warn of this mismatch or how can I participate on updating package version in the next release of Ubuntu?

Hi, you can try to notify the maintainer of the package by searching for the package in https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty . You can help with updating the package by joining(or helping) the MOTU by reading this guide https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PackagingGuide/Complete and notify the MOTU about it. More info about the MOTU can be found here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU .

I hope this answered your question and i'm glad to hear you want to help developing Ubuntu.

Thanks BdG for answer. Launchpad says the maintainer of this package is Debian KDE Extras Team. I tryied to contact them via mailing list, but got no answer ...
Is there any other way? I mean e.g. bazaar or via this link: https://code.launchpad.net/kvpnc ...

I got response from KDE Extras mailing list finally - their advice was to file new bug as sync-request to lauchpad ... done ... waiting what will happen ...
