Jaunty glxgears FPS low - reason?

I have installed both Jaunty and hardy on my Dell Mini inspiron and find large differences in the FPS when I run glxgears

Hardy ~500FPS
Jaunty ~50FPS

What is the reason behind this? Is this because of the way the XServer is built in Jaunty - maybe using mesa software emulation entirely?

I am true, I used to have about 3000 and now only get about 240 fps. Appears to be a widespread problem, I found several people with the same problems, I hope that is the solution, I can not uninstall 9.04.

My video card is integrated. INTEL. and it appears that it has 3D acceleration.

Can you help with this problem?
