Upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10

Asked by peter

Hi

I upgradet from 8.04 to 8.10 and now I've some problems.

1: The screen resolution is not correct. In 8.04 I had a resolution of 1280 * 800. In 8.10 this is not supported. So I changed to 1280 * 960. But it didn't help. If you like you can get a copy of the xorg.conf file.

2: If I change the resolution with System > Preferences > Screen Resolution also the theme will change. And I don't have anymore an entry called Theme to change the theme. I guess, in 8.04 it was included in System > Preferences. And I can change the resolution only once.

I'm looking forward to get clever answers *lol. Thanks a lot!
Peter

Only bother to fix this if you are sticking with 8.10, otherwise just move straight onwards to upgrade to 9.04 and then see if the problem remains ;)
Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
