 I ran. apt list - - update
Was not given a place to confirm.
Was already in terminal.
Went to. https://filext.com/file-extension/GSP
Followed sites instructions. It gave me much text. Two red lines. One below (in red). First red line similar, but (99%) not displayed.
You see the first 20 MB above and the last 18 KB below. The remaining 74 MB (79%) of the file are not displayed
Did not go farther. Tell me what I did wrong, and I will redo it.

Thank You Very Much
I am 76 years old, and having trouble with computers. Thank You again.

What exactly do you want to achieve?

As far as I can see from https://learnubuntumate.weebly.com/gnome-split.html Gnome-split is a tool to split files into several parts with the aim to transfer the smaller files somewhere else and re-combine them back into the original.

If you want to extract a short part from the Dashcam video, then you better do this is task with a video editing program, e.g. openshot

I had tried OpenShot before, did not work. I tried it again after your suggestion. I got more done, but a problem (could not play .osp file) came up. Could not find anything to play it. I am looking to convert .osp file to another format.

Thank You

I converted the file by using instructions at this site. -- https://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/osp-to-mp4.html
Now I have a MP4 that shows a black screen on different video players.

As far as I know .osp is a file extension for opesnhot projects than can be opened in openshot only.
You should have "export"ed the file from openshot in the desired format instead of using the osp file.

If you don't have success with openshot - there are lots of other video editing programs. Maybe another one works for you.

Thank you for your help. I will mark as solved. Have tried all video editing programs I could fine for Ubuntu. I have watched YouTube videos on how to operate programs. At my age, they are too complicated. Five or ten years ago I could have. I played complete video and filmed it, and cut where I wanted.

Again Thank You.
