Hello, Melinda. :-)

This sort of thing is case-sensitive, mind. Look over that, and tell me what happens.

If not, download Kopete. It's in the repositories, so you can easily search for it in Synaptic Package Manager and install it easily, or open up a terminal/konsole and write
"sudo apt-get install kopete"
Without the quotation marks, and enter your password (which you won't be able to see as you type in.)

Kopete, I think, is the one place that KDE beat GNOME, in terms of Desktop Environments. :-)

Anyway, I hope I've helped, and solved your question!

Best to you, and good luck!

Does Kopete support yahoo messenger? Also does it allow voice/video chat? Thanks! Bye!

Looked over that, still can't seem to login. Must I have a email address that ends with yahoo when logging in? My email address is with AT&T.

Yes, it supports Yahoo! Messenger. :-) Also, it is the only means of voice/video chat available at this time on Ubuntu.

And yes, you probably do have to have a Yahoo! email adress.

I hope I've helped!

Melinda, if you could, since I answered your question, could you mark that I have solved this for you?

Sorry if that would be an inconvenience! Good luck! :-)
