i get this following error "Error parsing proxy URL http://:8080/: Invalid host name." i tried to unset http proxy getting invalid identifier could anyone help me with answring

i get this following error
"Error parsing proxy URL http://:8080/: Invalid host name."
 i tried to unset http proxy but getting as invalid identifier
i tried
unset http_proxy=http://username:<email address hidden>:port/
 unset http_proxy=http://:8080/
gconftool --set /system/http_proxy/use_http_proxy --type bool 0
no use getting same error
  could anyone help me with answering

yes i ran but got invalid identifier error

You need to say "unset http_proxy" as is, without the "=http:..." part. That is the invalid identifier.
