Which process is downloading?

Asked by eyemeansit

Is there a way to tell which process is downloading? I'm running gkrellm on jaunty and I keep seeing my download monitor maxing out for a couple of minutes even though I'm not actively downloading anything. I thought perhaps it was the update manager, which I have set to download updates automatically in the background, but when I open Synaptic, there are no updates waiting to be installed.

It still checks for updates in the backround.

wojox: Yes, I'm online when it happens.

shane: the check for updates takes about 10 seconds or less, and doesn't max out the connection. This is some kind of download that is maxing out the connection for 30 seconds or more.

Your probably retrieving web pages with heavy content.
Try going to a site with Flash and see what happens.

Can you help with this problem?
