when i used command $sudo apt-get install kde
it started downloading the archives of 201 MB but i changed my mind in between and stopped it to save my disk space

Hello,

I know two ways of cleaning your drive.
You can use in a terminal "sudo apt-get clean" ; it will delete all the packages used to install programs.
The other method, if you wish to keep some package, is to go to this folder :
 /var/cache/apt/archives
using root privileges.

I hope it helped.
