"Grub loading.." then restarts

Ubuntu 9.10 clean install from USB flash drive and netbootn. After installation and first restart OS runs fine. After that, every attempt to boot fails with brief message "Grub loading..." followed by cycle of power down and restarts.

HP laptop DV6449US; AMD processor, Nvideo card, no other operating system.

first i thought it was hardware error......i suspect that now also.could you check on that.
next i think something failed in the installation....i would like to tell you that you should be installing with cd rom and the next version of ubuntu 10.4,thanks
