how to manage sound-themes with canberra?

it seems ubuntu 9.10 didn't have default application for sound themes changer...
the canberra application looks like can't solve this, it's just have a privilege to change between ubuntu-sound themes or no-sound! I want to customize it with my own sound-themes, of course with some tools, not with replace or rename the sound-themes file in /usr/share/
