Audio, Display & Lan drivers

Asked by wmlooi

Hi,

Just came to know that my motherboard ASUS P5GL-MX has Linux drivers for Audio, Display & Lan. Then, I downloaded them and extracted the files as shown below. Anybody know how to install it? Currently my Audio, Display & Lan are working fine but is that necessary to install the drivers provided by the motherboard manufacturer. Pls advice.
Thanks.

No, it is not necessary to load the drivers from the motherboard manufactures site. Drivers for Ubuntu and other Linux based distributions are provided directly by the distribution (Ubuntu in this case).

Oh, I see. But, in case I want to install it can you teach me how to do it. I don't know how to install those tar.bz2, rpm and that one has a *.c or .h files. Just want to learn somethings. Appreciate if you could share with me.
Thanks.
