wireless with Belkin G+ PCMCIA card

Asked by Susan Cragin

Wireless problems. Latest Dapper Drake running on Acer Ferrarri 4005 with AMD 64 K8 kernel.
Have internal Broadcomm wireless which is probably crap, so bought a Belkin G+ with 802.11 b and g support.
Downloaded driver file to desktop, installed them with gui System/Administration/windows wireless drivers.
It says the hardware is recognized, but it doesn't pick up any signals.
Help.

Thanks.

I have the same card and would love to install Ubuntu on my laptop too but I'm not sure how to follow these instructions. I'm new.

Would someone be able to give a step by step idiots guide to getting a wireless card to work?
What does rt2500 module mean?
When you say 'ndiswrapper with cd' what exctly does that mean?

I'd really appreciate some help here becuase I'm not going to install ubuntu if I can't get online and I'm a total noob.
