my mouse started acting crazy

for some reason my mouse just went crazy. optical logitech ps2,, the pointer goes from corner to corner side to side top to bottom and auto clicks and causes error windows to pop up . ubuntu 9.10

while waiting for a reply i plug in an old ball type mouse it did the same thing . so i started removing the last things i had installed secret maryo chrioncles and neverput . after restarting it seams to be working better then the pointer disapaired ,, so i plug the optical mouse back in ;; seams to be ok for now .
