That model phone supports Bluetooth connections, which is good if your laptop has bluetooth built in. If not you can run out to any store and get a USB Bluetooth adapter. There are a few howto's posted on various Ubuntu resources, but they're all going to be different depending on your wireless provider.

This is a fairly good tutorial if you are on tmobile here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BluetoothDialup

However past that you should search ubuntuforums.org for a query such as "bluetooth dialup <carrier name>"

Actually I mis-read that wiki page... it helps with several wireless carriers. Check and see if yours is included...

Unfortunately that software suite is probably only built for windows. If you would like, you can try to install and run the software using WINE (A type of windows emulation software). To install this open a terminal and type "sudo apt-get install wine"

Unfortunately that software suite is probably only built for windows. If you would like, you can try to install and run the software using WINE (A type of windows emulation software). To install this open a terminal and type "sudo apt-get install wine"

Then try opening your CD and locating the install file (probably called Install.exe). You will have to right click this and select "Run with other command" and type in "wine" and try to run it.

If all goes well, it should show up somewhere under you Applications menu. However this is a stretch solution, and may very well not work. You might be able to find some howto's relating your phone to internet access for your laptop with a USB cable. Try searching ubuntuforums.org for something along the lines of "k610i usb internet"

Can you help with this problem?
