Once the iso file is completely downloaded, the iso.part will disappear.

From then, you can use usb-creator (under Sytem > Administration (I think) to use your iso to create a live USB (at least 1 GB) with or without a persistent section (use the maximum as a persitent section on the usb drive to save data and configuration files)

It is pretty easy. Just plug-in your usb drive and it will be recognized and formatted if necessary (if full of data, to be blanked).

if you have .part the download may not have completed. You now need to MD5 test the ISO to make sure its consistant and complete. If not you will need to redownload the file

Once downloaded you can use usb-creator

sudo apt-get install usb-creator

and create a bootable USB stick

If your system is currently windows based (or yuo have a windows system) you can use this:

Thank you but will I still have two files on desktop? do I need to only use one? Looks like one is complete and the other is .part

Normally, when the downloading is on going, it creates a iso.part file (temporary) which shall become an .iso file when the download is completed.

Like Actionparsnip said, you better check the iso file by calculating its md5sum:

Open a terminal and enter

md5sum file_name.iso

and wait for the calculation to complete (1-2 minutes sometimes), then you check the result against the md5sum value of the original iso file (you can find it from the web site where you downloaded the iso file.

you can download the ISO as many times as you wish.
