Autoload amarok with ipod - populate playlist
I have setup amarok to load up automatically when I connect my ipod. I did this by editing the default.list in hardy and replacing rhythmbox.desktop with amarok.desktop and then choosing the associated action in nautilus.
It works, but when amarok starts up with the ipod, it takes a long time because it is trying to do the action 'populating playlist'. I think it is trying to make a playlist of ALL the files on my ipod.
Note that when I start amarok normally, or connect my ipod and open amarok manually this does not happen. It is only when I try and make it load automatically.
Is there any way I can stop it doing that? A command that I need to pass perhaps?
Someone on the ubuntu forums gave me some suggestions:
[quote]
"That would be because Nautilus is passing the path of the audioplayer as an argument to Amarok (as in "open these files please").
I believe the simplest workaround for this would be to mess with the .desktop-file so that the argument fails to be interpreted correctly. This can probably be done by changing the command to be executed from
amarok
to something like
amarok _
If that doesn't work, you'll have to run amarok with an option that takes the path as an argument but does not know what to do with it. I don't know what those would be, but you can probably find one on the man page (As an example to what I mean; "evolution -c calendar" would launch evolution in calendar mode, while "evolution -c /media/audioplayer" would just start it with default settings)."

However this did not work for me.
Any advice appreciated.
