Using apport for Snap applications

A contributor asked me to add information to a bug report for an application distributed by Canonical via Snap. I must use apport-collect to do so.
Unfortunately, I cannot make use of apport-collect here, since I can only get it to log that the package is not installed. It makes sense since I used Snap and not Aptitude to install the application.
Does it make sense to use Apport for Snap apps? Is there a way to generate a report for them?
