Problem with 27/28 April Updates for 10.10

Asked by Albert Muick

Hello.
I have just tried to update my Maverick Meerkat 10.10 using today's updates, and the KDE update portion of the update package will not update, holding up 37 updates.
I get this error message:
Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/k/kde4libs/libkio5_4.5.5-0ubuntu2_i386.deb The HTTP server sent an invalid Content-Range header [my IP address]
Additionally, when I check for updates, the proprietary drivers update list will not download. I am currently in Pattaya, Thailand and am leaving tomorrow.
I have rebooted several times but the problem remains.
Thanks for any help!

Open Terminal from "Applications->Accessories->Terminal" and type or copy and paste a row a time from here then paste into terminal:

sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

the system ask you a password give your user password, you will not see nothing when you type it, then press enter

Hello,

Paul Stewart's suggestion fixed the problem!
I am very ashamed to admit I did not think of this myself.
Going to crawl back under my rock now. ;-)
Thanks again!
