Errno 2 No such file takesnapshot_.log

Asked by matsonfamily

Back In Time was working correctly before a clean install [of ubuntu 20.04], but now the root instance of backintime succeeds with no error, but doesn't produce a new snapshot. If I check the last log, it says this: (full log entry)

Failed to get take_snapshot log from None:

[Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/root/.local/share/backintime/takesnapshot_.log'

As I review previous root snapshots, there never has been a backintime directory in the .local folder, so I'm unsure why it's now looking for it. The snapshots on my own user are working successfully. My user snapshots save to a folder on my root drive and my root snapshots save to a folder on my user drive (mounted to /home). Both folders seem to have the correct permissions. My user account *does* have the backintime folder in the .local folder, but only after my clean install of Ubuntu 20.04, never in the past.

I am unsure why, but this morning, the takesnapshot_.log file was created, and now it's working fine. There's been many reboots, before and after this issue, but I didn't try to modify any permissions... just works.
