What is the default username/password when trying to access the backuppc web interface?

I've installed backuppc. It told me to connect to http://localhost/backuppc to administer stuff, but this page requires HTTP authentication.

What I did is list the files installed with backuppc, and then I've found "/etc/backuppc/htpasswd". The only username there was "backuppc", but these files got garbled passwords, so I just used my apache's "htpasswd" on that file to set the password to whatever I want and then I could connect through the HTTP authentication.

Maybe I just dismissed the dialog that popped up in the backuppc installation too quickly and the username/password was written there :)

From what I have read backuppc issues you your username and password at the terminal during installation.

Example of what it outputs:

"Web administration default user created

BackupPC can be managed through its web interface:
http://server1.example.com/backuppc/

For that purpose, a web user named 'backuppc' with 'fBbndZVx' as password has been created."

You can change your password by issuing this command at the terminal:

{ htpasswd /etc/backuppc/htpasswd backuppc }

I dont know, If you need to log on to the web interface and dont know the password, I would say its best to just chage it. I also dont think it has a default password *one is genaratted for you*. Hope this helps. Justin
