How do I access my webcam

I just bought the computer and can't access the webcam can't even find where the access is in the puter I have an Dell inspiron 1764 with a linux system with ubuntu whatever that is

the webcam is most likely the little dot on the top middle part of the screen/lid.

open the program called cheese. it's for snapping pix and making videos from your webcam.

click the link below and you can see the dot on the picture. that's the webcam.

If cheese doesn't give a picture of yourself, can you please give the output of:

lsusb
