problems getting drivers for light wave usb stik /fm and light wave ic 500 webcam
am new in ubuntu and am using it with net cyber cafe
very much stradend
show me how to command am using ubuntu 10.1 and 8.04

Hardy is no longer supported on the desktop.

Can you give the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; lsusb

Have you considered wiping clean and installing a clean install of Oneiric or even Precise? The newer drivers and kernel may make the hardware just work.

recopy the command I gave
press ctrl+alt+t
paste in the cmmand
press enter
copy the output
paste here as an uodate.

wiping clean would involve burning the install cd for oneiric and booting to it. you will be offered to upgrade but dont use this option. if you sinle boot ubuntu just tell it to use the entire drive again and all data will be destroyed, then the new OS will be installed. Obviously backup your data first.
