easy cam2 installation

Asked by larry stevens

We loaded EasyCam2 thru the terminal. Upon completion of that we were to go to applications - accessories - EasyCam2 for installation. We get the "Welcome to the installation assistant for webcam drivers under Debian". We click "forward", get our MSI Starcam Racer for installation, click forward, and get a screen to click on "start the installation". When we click this, it turns grey for a few moments, and a partial green bar shows up on the driver installation bar. But then everything stops and the "start installation" button turns white again. Nothing is happening. We can click on the "start installation" again, and the same thing happens.

The web cam is a Rosewill RCM-3201V. but it registers on the system - administration - system log as a oc45:62eo. Which is apparently a MSI Starcam Racer by Sonic Technology.

Can anyone help me? Please give me detailed info about what to do, as I am a rookie w/ this stuff. Thanks!
