Chrome uses its own scrollbar. Is this normal?

Installed Google Chrome because I'm tied to that infrastructure. I noticed right away that Chrome seems to use some sort of fallback scrollbar. Is this normal or expected behavior?

Not sure what this has to do with elementary at all, but you can install extensions to change the scrollbar for Chrome if you don't like the default one

Unless I'm mistaken, Gala is in charge of window decorations, which include the scrollbar, the close button, etc. If Chrome is overriding this, then I understand why it is displaying something different than the expected elementary-style scrollbar. However, if Chrome is not overriding the scrollbar and is using the system default (which I think that it does in both Windows and Mac OS), then this is a gala/elementary bug.

Of course, I could just be crazy. Distinct possibility there.

Chrome (and apparently a host of other non-GTK applications) uses its own scrollbar and doesn't support the overlay scrollbar.

Gala has nothing to do with the scrollbar. It just draws the window decorations if you set it in the chrome settings, so everything around the window. The scrollbar belongs to the content of the window, which is drawn by chrome.
