Hello,

Canon is not very supportive of Linux. Try another make.

I downloaded cnijfilter-mp250series-3.40-1-deb.tar.gz from http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100236101.html , unpacked the archive, ran ./install.sh from a terminal, and followed the instructions displayed. I've only tried basic printing so far, but that's working fine for me.

YMMV, as they are presumably proprietary drivers with some GPL2 components; I haven't tried scanning, or different print qualities; and the download page above is only supposed to be for printers bought in Australia or New Zealand. If you're from a different region and still can't locate a download, let me know your details.

Can you help with this problem?
