Does it make any sense to run without sudo ?

Asked by Arthur Lutz

You can run displayconfig-gtk without sudo but you can't "validate" the configuration (write access to xorg.conf ?) and the test button usually doesn't work (or still hasn't worked for me). Should displayconfig-gtk be run without administrator rights ? Is it not going to be confusing for people trying it out for the first time ? I think I'd rather have a little text going "please run with sudo", or at least a warning...

This is pretty much work in progress. Are you using the feisty version? In gutsy the program is launched by prefixing gksu.

Does Bulletproof-X makes sense, anyway?

It would be nice to have a section when trying to attach a laptop to a TV using SVideo. I remember there only being selections for specific monitors, or a generic one that didn't work (nor could you test it). This would be a great feature to add to Gutsy. As if there is enough time, i doubt it.

Can you help with this problem?
