installing software

i have webcam and ubuntu is not allowing me to install it to my laptop there is a pop up message saying that the the disc was not a debian disc. how can i install my webcam? and also i want to install chikka but its not allowing me. please help me.

i want to install softwarw like creative web in my laptop but ubuntu is not allowing me. there is a pop up message saying that the disc in cdrom was not a debian disc. the software i am installing is genuine how come ubuntu is not allowing it? and one thing you know chikka messanger i also want to download it online but the same way its not allowing me to download it. please help me. i really like ubuntu but it is very technical. i hope you could help me with this. thanks and more power!

Because that is most likely Windows software, which you cannot run on Linux.

Unless you start emulating it via Wine.
