When will Empathy have privacy control like Pidgin?

When using Empathy for especially being online via the MSN protocol, I receive lots of chat spam (several entries a day), apparently automated, from more or less random accounts but with the same text.
In Pidgin, I was able to control who is allowed to contact me, i.e. only allowing a specified list of contacts or only those on my contact list - in Empathy apparently anyone can contact me.

When will similar privacy control be introduced in Empathy?

Nobody knows... but Empathy is under heavy development and IMHO not ready for real use by now. And I'm not sure if it is some kind "of" ready when Karmic is released.
We will see. Just use Pidgin meanwhile.
