Configure ethernet duplex setting on Ubuntu 10.10

Asked by kalyan raj sista

I've a dual OS with XP (installed first) and Ubuntu 10.10. I booted into Ubuntu and seems like internet is not coming for me.

My local internet operator did some settings in Windows XP by configuring the ethernet duplex setting to 10Mbps/Full.

Do I need to do the same settings in Ubuntu to get internet. If so, what is the best way to do it.

Many Thanks in advance.

actionparsnip - Thanks for the help. the commands displayed so much of information.

But, I've solved my problem by downloading the ethtool, installed it and configured the duplex settings for my ethernet. Its working now.
