How to open dialog box .ui files for graphical editing in IDE

Asked by Paul Stewart

Hi,

I have downloaded the evolution code using the command
bzr branch lp:ubuntu/evolution

When I open the folders I can see the ui folder and the .ui files. When I try to open them in Qt (or any other program) I can see code, but no graphical representation of the forms for editing.

How do I open the ui files so I can edit them graphically, like I would in Visual Studio or delphi or some other ide?

Thanks
Paul

Thanks Marcobra,

I thought that was the answer too, but when I tried to open a '.ui' file in the evolution branch source I get the following dialogue box with this message....

The file /home/paul/Projects/evolution/ui/evolution-mail.ui is not a valid Designer UI file. Do you want to update the file location or generate a new form?

...I tried to open the ui files for the update-manager source code, and those open fine. Am I doing something wrong?

I am going to download the branch source code again and see if that makes a difference.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Paul
