Please use my little script mb_ubuntu_optimizer download with torrent run it and you will have the requested backspace fix... and a general Firefox optimization...

http://www.elart.it/ubuntu/mb_ubuntu_optimizer/index_en.php

or in Firefox manually set the browser.backspace_action default to 2 to 0

Open Firefox and into address bar and type:

about:config

Then modify the above value.

marcobra, I fill the bug against this issue in Firefox a year ago, backspace is dumped from Firefox (I don't know why) If you set action to 0 it happens nothing.

Marcobra, I think that script is only for a 32 bits OS - I am using a 64 bits. Will it work with a 64 bits OS?
