USB Flash Drive--UBUNTU, Help !!!!
HELP !!! ---I am a computer dummy!!
I have a Toshiba laptop. My operating system is, Microsoft Windows Vista Business 32-bit SP2.
I WANT THE JOY OF RUNNING UNBUNTU FROM A FLASH DRIVE. I have a 8GB flash drive.
Problem is I do not know how to down load Ubumtu on my flash drive.
I went to the unbuntu site, and after looking around I found,
http://
I followed the directions, but no unbuntu on my flash drive!!
I was successful on step one. On step two the instructions are not clear for dummies.
I GOT THE FIRST PART OF STEP 2 correct, but when I click browse, I got a window which did not look like one in the picture.
It is from here I got screwed up, I clicked on the left looking for the USB, clicked it and got the second window in step 2.
BUT THIS 2nd WINDOW DID NOT HAVE A FILE NAME, IT DID SAY ISO FILE ON THE RIGHT TAB.
So I copied, PRECISE- DESKTOP -ISO from the picture.
I hit open and got a window that looked like step 3.
I hit create and something downloaded into my flash drive.
When I open my flash drive it says:
license 4/4/2012 text document 18 kb
UNI-USB-INSTALLER - R 10/17/2013 text document 18 kb
UNI-USB- INSTALLER-C 1/11/2013 text document 48 kb
As you can no see ubuntu is not on my flash drive!!
So how do I get the ubuntu 13.10 on my flash drive?
PLEASE IF YOU RESPOND DO SO IN DETAIL!! do not skip or assume I know.
HELP!! HELP!!
