History ergonomics comment

Not a question, just a comment: The browser drop down history (the one at the end of the URL entry area) has reached a new level of useless and butt ugly. Do we really need the content of sites we have visited spelled out for us? Is the superfluous information supposed to aid bookmark searches? Can a user turn the verbiage off if he doesn't want it? Why is it tied to the bookmarks (see gasman's problem with deleting)?
