Home page .co.il vice .com ?

Asked by marossity

I want my home page to be "www.google.com". (Which is in English)

It consistently comes up "www.google.co.il" (Which is in Hebrew)

I am presently residing in Israel but do not want the Hebrew Web page.

I have looked in "about:config" but have not been able to find anything.

Once you have loaded the Google page that you wish to be your home page, go to the Edit menu from Firefox, then choose Preferences and in the General Tab specify the actual (current) page to be your home page.

I have done that more times than once.
It just seems to ignore my choice and goes to the ".co.il" instead of the desired ".com".
But thank you for replying.

You could try to put this URL in your (Edit Preferences General tab) Home page:

http://www.google.com/ncr

Its because by default without the /ncr it will default to the national page

Well now, Vu Do Quynh, that seems to have solved my problem.

Many thanks for your time and input.
