I'm afraid all banks require IE to log in for online banking, and currently, all banks only use IE, whish is not available in Ubuntu. You may try Wine, but I don't think that will work as you can't download IE8 Installer from Microsoft.

What I can say is if you have Windows, install virtual machine on your system and install Windows. That's the best solution I can provide currently. Hope that solve your problem.

That's pretty wrong. There are many banks that do support non IE browsers. Not all, but many. Remember that IE has less than 50% market share, so if a bank ignores other browsers, they are shooting themselves in the foot compared to their competitors.

One further solution beyond the VM is to fake your user-agent to make your browser appear to the remote system to be IE, even if it is not. However, this may or may not work, depending if your bank simply uses normal browser features or not.

What about using one of the applications like gnucash or homebank? I believe that you can set up online backing with those.

I use Firefox on Ubuntu 11.04 and can access and transact on State Bank,ICICI ,Axis bank and HDFC bank sites. Just check your browser settings, maybe theres some firewall or cookie disabling.

Can you help with this problem?
