how to get firefox to use mplayer plugin instead of totem plugin

I am running Ubuntu Edgy... I installed the mozilla-mplayer plug in, however firefox insists on using the totem plugin to play online movies etc.
i want it to use the mozilla-mplayer plugin.
 Plese how can id o this?
 I hae been trying eerything, including wel search for anything that could help without success.

If you remove the package called totem-mozilla then it should use the mozilla-mplayer package instead.
