Someone has ported the Yahoo emoticon set to Pidgin/Gaim. Download the .tar.bz2 file and extract it, placing the folder in the smileys folder within ~/.gaim (you can find this folder by navigating to your home folder, going to View > Show Hidden Files. I hope this helps!

There is an updated pack/smiley theme of the latter (at bluescreenkid.org) at this address http://andreineculau.wordpress.com/2007/10/14/original-emoticons/ .
It has YAHOO, MSN, ICQ6, AIM, GTALK, GADU-GADU original emoticons.

You may use the emoticons provided at http://andreineculau.wordpress.com/2007/10/14/original-emoticons/ by extracting the archive (.zip), repacking to .tar.gz and then adding it in Pidgin -> Preferences -> Smiley Themes.
