admin password not accepted by gui

Asked by Thomas Boesiger

I found that the only way to use gdebi is in a terminal. sudo gdebi-gtk works while using a menu item in gnome fallback, selecting gdebi in unity or gnome shell produces a prompt for the admin password that will not accept the correct password. (possibly, the single character password that I use is not accepted in this prompt and is allowed in a terminal)

Dont use sudo with GUI apps. use gksudo.

if your password doesnt work in gksudo then I suggest you report a bug.

Can you help with this problem?
