is there a way to make custom line numbers in Gedit?

Asked by justin pogge

I use Gedit to wright Fanuc code for CNC and it would be a nice time saver to have line numbering. is it possible to create custom a line numbering system for instance N010, N020, N030, etc, instead of 1,2,3?

i know how to turn line numbering on, but i want to turn the standard line numbering into the type used in CNC code writing. written with "N" followed by the line number like "N010"

Maybe gedit isn't the tool then, could try sublime2. See if the feature is present.

Can you help with this problem?
