launcher and status bar are disappeared

Asked by Prabal pratap singh

Hi friends,
I m using Ubuntu 13.10 in my desktop. Sometime ago i was trying to update Virtualbox but neither software updater showed update for Virtualbox nor terminal did it. Then i downloaded package dump from Virtualbox website and uninstalled the older one. I opened the newer package dump in Ubuntu Software Center and clicked the INSTALL button. It started to download and install. After installation was completed i tried to open it but there was no icon of virtualbox neither in launcher nor in dash. Then i restarted my desktop. After it i saw that computer is fully started but the launcher and status bar didn't loaded, only the wallpaper is appearing, right click is not working. I pressed Alt+Ctrl+Delete it opening the System Monitor, i ended the gnome-session here, then i got logged out successfully. Here, on the logged out screen every thing was working. After logging in again I attached external hard disk and pendrive, they automatically opened their folder as usual and every thing was running here also all the videos, photos, music files etc. But launcher and status bar were disappeared they didn't loaded. I copied something from home folder to pendrive, the process was successfully completed but during process the status bar and basic body of small window didn't appeared.

Also, I want to ask that if i have to send some pictures with question related to problems how can i do it?
