m-player wont play on firefox

How do you get the data to stream? Can you provide a link so I can test and investigate. Thanks

Please upgrade to at least 8.04. In fact 8.04 might be absolutely perfect for you, better than 9.04 because 8.04 has Long Term Support and doesn't need upgrading again until June 2010 when 10.06 is due to be released.

although i would keep the non-free components because i find them so incredibly useful. Hopefully one day i will go completely OpenSource but not just yet.

Finally sort the BBC's linux iplayer

choosing the Debian option as Ubuntu is in the Debian family. You might want to help support them by being one of their beta testers but thiis would mean the thing would break-down occasionally and you'd have to ask them how to fix it

Lol, i "Pressed here for Audio" and my web-browser crashed. So i did it again and it crashed again!! dohhh!

however i have installed realplayer and altered the preferences in firefox,
just clicked onto the the website and its still using m-player,
 what do you recommend i do?

I seem to have been having trouble with YouTube and playing movies over the internet in the last couple of days. Sometimes things like this just happen and then magically get fixed or seem to fix themselves a few days later. I am never quite sure if it was just me being stupid for a couple of days or if it's down to some updates. At the moment i seeem to fix the problem by useing Synaptic to look for "flash" and completely uninstall "adobe-flashplugin" and then reinstall it. Using the search button helps because it remembers the last thing i typed into it. It seems to be caused whenever i mute audio. <shrugs> i might post a bug-report about it tomorrow but i have a feeling this time it's something stupid i did but can't remember what i did lol

I don't know if any of that is relevant. Does other multimedia work on your machine? Any trouble with playing normal movies or playing music? Please let us know.
