Acer Aspire 5741-6823 Laptop Wireless

Asked by Bill Campbell

Re an Acer Aspire 5741-6823 Laptop running 10.04, I can't figure out how to turn on the wireless. The Fn-F3 key combo doesn't turn it on/off as it does when running Windows. Any thoughts?

I recommend you clean install Oneiric or even Precise. Maverick is EOL at the end of next month.

Maybe I'll just do the install of the newer version. The instructions at the URL mentioned above are incomprehensible to me. It says install the package for 10.10 but no instructions how.
